About Josh

Hi!, I’m Joshua Fennessy — a Business Intelligence Architect with BlueGranite, Inc.  I’ve been working in the Microsoft Business Intelligence stack since the SQL Server 2005 release.   Over the last 6 years, I’ve gained a lot of practical experience building complete BI solutions.  Working with the BI stack is very rewarding.  I love being witness to an “ah-ha!” moment when a someone I’m working with creates a Pivot Table for the first time and realizes that data can be easily accessible and interactive!

I am currently a MCSE Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert — in the current version of Microsoft SQL Server as well as a holder of certifications with SharePoint and PerformancePoint.

Additionally I am leader of  West MI SQL Server User’s Group, a SQL Pass sponsored group based in Grand Rapids, MI.  Giving back to the community is something I am very passionate about.  I am happy and honored to be given the chance to provide a real-life forum for SQL Server professionals to get together and share experience, get free training, and make new friends!

Public speaking is something that I truly enjoy doing.  In my career I get to do a fair amount of it through different training opportunities that BlueGranite offers.  I also enjoy speaking for SQL Pass.  I have presented at numerous SQL Saturdays and local User Groups, and have many more planned.  Check this site for an update of where I’ll be speaking next!

You can connect with me on Twitter or LinkedIn, or by email at josh (at) joshuafennessy (dot) com — I look forward to hearing from you!

Can you send me a copy of your presentation on The Futher of BI Tabular, that you gave at Indianoplis SQL Saturday on July 28.

    Thanks,
